Locker #505's main focus has been, and always will be, to clothe students so they can attend school in comfort and with confidence.

As many of you know the COVID-19 pandemic has closed all New Mexico schools for the remainder of the school year.  In keeping with best safety practices for our customers, visitors, and staff we will also be closed until further notice.  With so much uncertainty in the world today we cannot begin to tell you when we will reopen or what our services will look like at that time.  Please know we will keep you up to date on our reopening and services.

In the meantime, if you have in kind donations please hang on to them for us. We will need them.  If you wish to make a financial contribution you can do it from our website or mail it to PO Box 94735, Albuquerque, NM 87199.  For those who have not been following us on social media, we unfortunately had our largest fundraiser and clothing drive of the year canceled due to this virus which further complicates our situation.

Thank you for your continued support!  Without you all we couldn't have seen almost 1,500 students as of March 13, when we had to temporarily close our doors.

Please be safe, be healthy, and take care of each other.

Who we are

Our Mission

Provide appropriate school clothing to K-12 Bernalillo County students in need.

Locker #505 is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that has established a student-focused facility where children can try on and choose outfits that they feel good about wearing. Having appropriate school clothing allows children to concentrate on their school work, not their clothing. It also helps keep children, who might not go to class because of their clothes, stay in school.

It is crucial to us that each student is treated with the utmost respect and kindness and leaves Locker #505 feeling good.

Our History

In 1950, concerned parents and teachers, recognizing the need to assist some students with clothing and shoes, began the BCCPTA Clothing Bank.  This was a student-centered facility where children could try on clothes in comfortable and welcoming surroundings aided by caring and knowledgeable employees and volunteers.  When the BCCPTA Clothing Bank closed its doors in 2013, a great resource for children was lost to the Bernalillo County community.  Locker #505 was founded in 2014 to once again provide a student-centered clothing facility for children in need where they can find loving assistance in choosing appropriate school clothing.
