Locker # 505 is now open and serving students as well as accepting donations. Our policies and procedures have changed a bit in light of the current crisis and an uncertain future.  Please read below for some basic information. If you have further questions please email us at director@locker505.org.

Please note our hours have changed also and will be listed at the bottom of this page.

Parents: if you are seeking clothing for your child(ren)  you need to contact your counselor or social worker in order to obtain a referral.

Counselors / Social Workers / Parent Liaison / Referers:  There are NEW referral forms and procedures.  If you need the new referral and information please email us at director@locker505.org and we will email it to you.

We will now be seeing students curbside only- our staff will be calling parents to obtain clothing sizes and preferences. Parents will then be given an appointment to pick up their child's clothing.  Students will be asked to exit the car briefly to try on their new shoes only.

Donations will be accepted at the front door, again donors will not be allowed to enter the building, our staff will bring the donations into the building.  We do appreciate your donations!

Who we are

Our Mission

Provide appropriate school clothing to K-12 Bernalillo County students in need.

Locker #505 is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that has established a student-focused facility where children can try on and choose outfits that they feel good about wearing. Having appropriate school clothing allows children to concentrate on their school work, not their clothing. It also helps keep children, who might not go to class because of their clothes, stay in school.

It is crucial to us that each student is treated with the utmost respect and kindness and leaves Locker #505 feeling good.

Our History

In 1950, concerned parents and teachers, recognizing the need to assist some students with clothing and shoes, began the BCCPTA Clothing Bank.  This was a student-centered facility where children could try on clothes in comfortable and welcoming surroundings aided by caring and knowledgeable employees and volunteers.  When the BCCPTA Clothing Bank closed its doors in 2013, a great resource for children was lost to the Bernalillo County community.  Locker #505 was founded in 2014 to once again provide a student-centered clothing facility for children in need where they can find loving assistance in choosing appropriate school clothing.
