Locker #505 will be closed the week of July 13-17, 2020
As many of you have heard by now, Locker# 505 was broken into Thursday night. We have faced many challenges recently in many ways, however, this is a devastating blow. We are being asked how the community can help....they took many of the items that are the most expensive for us to obtain, new shoes, new underwear, new socks, and a computer. Some other clothing as well, which we hope will be replaced by donations. Thank you to so many that are offering to help, this means the world to us. We keep underwear sized from 4T to 52 in both boy's/men's and girl's/women's from 5 to 2x. Shoes we keep sizes toddler 10 to adult 15. There are also donation buttons on our homepage if you wish to make a financial donation. We will be closed next week and will reopen June 15th if you wish to bring donations by or you can drop them at Star Bright Cleaners.
We can't begin to thank the community for your support through this disastrous event. Our plan is to continue serving students as long as we can.
Thank you, Albuquerque!!
Locker # 505: Student's Clothing Bank
A very kind supporter of Locker #505 has created a GoFundMe to help support us after the break in.
Provide appropriate school clothing to K-12 Bernalillo County students in need.
Locker #505 is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that has established a student-focused facility where children can try on and choose outfits that they feel good about wearing. Having appropriate school clothing allows children to concentrate on their school work, not their clothing. It also helps keep children, who might not go to class because of their clothes, stay in school.
It is crucial to us that each student is treated with the utmost respect and kindness and leaves Locker #505 feeling good.
In 1950, concerned parents and teachers, recognizing the need to assist some students with clothing and shoes, began the BCCPTA Clothing Bank. This was a student-centered facility where children could try on clothes in comfortable and welcoming surroundings aided by caring and knowledgeable employees and volunteers. When the BCCPTA Clothing Bank closed its doors in 2013, a great resource for children was lost to the Bernalillo County community. Locker #505 was founded in 2014 to once again provide a student-centered clothing facility for children in need where they can find loving assistance in choosing appropriate school clothing.
Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
